Transforming black history education in classrooms

Across the country, the Black Lives Matter movement has sparked many conversations on how America can move forward in fighting racism and ways in which law enforcement can be remodeled. Some educators said it’s time to start from the beginning and focus on how to transform the way black history is taught in classrooms. Professor and Director of the Carter Center for K-12 Black History Education and the University of Missouri, LaGarrett King, spoke to PIX11 and discussed what those changes should look like.
